- The UFC, in Dana White's continuing saga of trying to hold his sport, is actually finding a PRIVATE ISLAND somewhere to hold fights. This is almost getting to some of the snuff literature (including some movies like "The Condemned") I've been hearing about.
- Major League Baseball is considering some degree of a quarantined league in Arizona this year to try to get games in.
- The NFL, should there be a training camp, is doing an all-Los Angeles "Hard Knocks" -- BOTH LA teams, in the shadow of the opening of SoFi Stadium.
Stuff to do:
- Given that this was supposed to be Masters Week, ESPN is showing several famous final rounds Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday -- Wednesday focusing on Jack Nicklaus, as they not only are showing his 1986 victory, they are also showing the 2018 Par 3 Contest. I just forget if that one is HIM holing out for the first time, or his grandson on 9 (which Nicklaus actually, with all sincerity, calls his proudest moment at Augusta!). My anonymous friend has reminded me it was Gary, his grandson's. 2018 Par 3 airs 10:30 AM Pacific tomorrow.
- An intrepid bunch of baseball fans are doing a simulation on MLB: The Show of the entire 2020 season, as close to the schedule as circumstances allow. And all monies raised through subs and the like are going to Meals on Wheels. It's MLBBotBall, on Twitch and on their own website.
- Olbermann:
Tonight’s #Thurbercast featured two really good stories: “Other Alarms At Night” and “Mr. Preble Gets Rid Of His Wife.”— Keith Olbermann (@KeithOlbermann) April 8, 2020
