The head of the NFL referee's association is sick of the league throwing the refs under the bus.
The latest retort comes as the third part of Hussein Abdullah's situation on Monday night, where the head of the referee's association actually believes the crew properly flagged Abdullah for unsportsmanlike conduct for performing a Muslim prayer in the end zone.
According to Deadspin and Barry Petchesky, the NFLRA released a statement on Thursday, stating in part:
"In the last two weeks, two penalties that were called in games that
drew national attention were publicly announced to be in error by the
League office, however the Officiating Department later graded the calls
as correct. This has caused confusion for NFL officials as to what the
League does and doesn't want called."
Goodell: "Exactly what we want you to call, and NOTHING MORE..."
