- Bill Romanowski is not only a steroid cheat, but the Department of Justice accuses him of owing the country $15,000,000 in back taxes.
- Beginning of the CONCACAF Gold Cup tonight in Chicago: USA vs. Jamaica.
- USA to field a substantially different roster than that won the CONCACAF Nations League.
- Probably a good thing: Weston McKinnie is suspended three additional matches (for four total!) and Sergino Dest banned three for their Violent Conduct red cards against Mexico.
- Cesar Montes of the Mexican team gets the same four matches McKinnie got, Gerardo Artaega got the same three Dest got -- both ARE on the Mexican side. Montes will not play until the Gold Cup knockout round, Artaega will not play until Mexico's final group stage match.
- A further sanction against Mexico may be announced after the Gold Cup, as the chants which caused the USA-Mexico match to be abandoned are still being addressed. My guess: They'll gloss them over, in the name of seeing what happens in the Gold Cup tournament.
- The big showdown with the Dodgers and Astros this weekend. Dodgers won Game 1 in LA, Houston leads Game 2 as I type.
- Davonte Adams' assault charge in Las Vegas has been dropped.
- Just like the effective CFP, the baseball collegiate championship is SEC vs. SEC: Florida vs. LSU.
- The only of the three major championships to go otherwise was the Final Four, where UConn won the title with three Final Four debutants, two from midmajors.
The truth is not what actually happened. It's what you can ENFORCE happened. It's ALL enforcement.
