Best put that disclaimer up there now. This is not another unscheduled part of "This Blog Should Not Exist"...
I was thinking of doing this post anyway, then an Auburn fan decided to dunk on Alabama...
Alabama Athletics 2023:
— caleb (@autigerfan22) May 4, 2023
- Darius Miles indicted on murder charges
- Brandon Miller controversy
- Tony Mitchell, football DB, arrested
- Jaykwon Walton, basketball commit, arrested
- Matt Self, Alabama Deputy AD, arrested
- Brad Bohannon fired amid gambling investigation
And that's not all... Then we get to Georgia:
- Fatal crash involving NFL Draft first-rounder kills two.
- Another NFL Draft prospect nailed for a public drunkenness disturbance.
- No fewer than nine Georgia Bulldogs have been arrested since January.
- NFL Draft livestream exposes racist slur on the part of a Georgia player.
And there are many others...
But I think there needs to be a very real question asked here:
Are we now looking at something overreaching here? Are we looking at a systemic top-level athlete and athletics problem? Are we looking at a situation that athletes are so out of control that it no longer matters anymore?
Worse, are we looking at an overreaching criminal situation, especially as it relates to Alabama? As in that the entire athletic program is a massive criminal conspiracy of multiple forms and fashions?
If I was the president, and I enacted that plan (to shut down these athletic programs), Alabama and Georgia would be the first to go.
ReplyDeleteSomething is going on to tie this all together. At least at Alabama, probably at least the two schools. But definitely the one.
