May 6, 2023 -- The Coronation of King Charles

The world's leaders and their representatives have gathered in London.  After a significant period of mourning and preparation after the death of the longest-reigning world monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, her son Charles will be officially crowned King Charles III in the coronation ceremony on Saturday in London.

Needless to say, Charles III is one of the most controversial kings in the history of the British Monarchy, including quite probable involvement in the death of Princess Diana and Dodi al-Fayed.  His Queen Consort Camilla is one of the most unpopular monarchs in the world, and many, leading up to the coronation, are giving their regards...  but to Diana instead.

Also in controversy is a Commonwealth-wide call which will be made during the ceremony to bend the knee and swear fealty to Charles III, by vocal proclamation of the citizens of the British Commonwealth.  To be fair, this is not completely out of line:  He is King and head of state of the entire British Commonwealth, but, in 2023, this is not necessarily the best of looks -- especially as it relates that most of the Commonwealth are some form of democracies under the Crown.
