Vegas Adventures 2019: Some observations from my annual trip...

Spent several days in Las Vegas last week on an annual R&R sojourn.  Some random thoughts:
  • City is getting real expensive -- as most every place on the Strip now has a major player (and, some, Cirque du Soleil on top of it!) to finance.  Gwen Stefani here, Brooks and Dunn with Reba McIntyre there...
  • Am I the only person who thinks the coverage of the Little League World Series regional tournaments was a little out of place at the casinos and sportsbooks?  (No, you cannot -- thankfully -- wager on the kids.)
  • Seem to see fewer "speciality games" (blackjack, craps, roulette as machines) and more slots which have more of a house edge...
  • Mirage buffet left a lot to be desired for Thursday dinner.  Friday lunch at Mandalay Bay's buffet, however, was QUITE GOOD.
  • All hail the Pinball Hall of Fame -- that is all.
  • Also, all hail Facebook's myVegas.  Just gotta keep plugging away on what comps you want to get.
  • Though the availability of comps is far below what it used to be on the site!
  • Could've come home with more money -- basically broke even.  Got a little crazy Saturday and paid for it, but nothing beyond what I could lose, and even far less than that.
  • Will have a lot of football numbers in the next couple weeks.
  • Weather was a shade cooler than many Augusts in Vegas.  Good to see.
