Suspension Blotter: Thou shalt not tell the truth about COMNEBOL...

  • Soccer:  Lionel Messi, for his comments stating the Copa America was rigged for host Brazil, banned three months from international play and fined $50,000.  Also, for the red card he received in the third-place match, he's also banned from the first match of the World Cup qualifiers next March.
  • Soccer:  Seattle Sounders:  Roman Torres:  10 matches from the MLS for violating the drug policy.
  • (NFL) Free Agent:  Player #31 in this offseason for the NFL:  Morris Claiborne is appealing a four-game verdict for substance abuse issues.  It is probably costing him any real chance to latch on during training camp.  Played the last two years with the Jets.
