If you want a double-barreled reason the Oakland Raiders are a joke right now...
There was no lease in place for the Raiders to even play in Oakland this year when the NFL made it's preseason schedule. So the A's scheduled a home game with the Yankees in the stadium instead!
This meant that the Week 3 pre-season game with the Packers had to be moved -- and the only place they could find was the home field of the Winnipeg Blue-Bombers of the Canadian Football League.
One serious problem: They had to move the goalposts from the CFL's goal-line position to the NFL's end-line position, as part of reconfiguring the field for the NFL 100 yard game.
... which had to be reconfigured again to 80 yards after the resulting hole at the goal line made portions of the field unsafe!!
Nice job, NFL...
