- The San Francisco Giants will not work out again until their coronavirus test results come back and the testing situation is made better and more robust.
- So have the Nationals, Astros, and Cardinals. At least two other teams are involved in the testing fiasco right now.
- There are sources telling Sports Illustrated that, in anticipation of a full-scale college closure Thanksgiving into January, college basketball is actually thinking of starting play about November 1. What good will that do, on three levels? 1) Are you even going to have school this Fall, at ANY LEVEL? 2) If they shut down that long, what makes you think they will restart school in January? 3) Even if they do, what makes you think they make March? (Yes, I believe we will eventually lose, at all levels, K-college, the entire 2020-21 school year. Any vaccine would not be ready in time to save it.)
- Now word the Vegas casinos may be forced to re-close. DUH!!!
- Governor of Nevada is saying only slightly less than half of businesses in Nevada were in necessary compliance with mask requirements.
- The spiking cases in Vegas were what took Vegas off the NHL hub list. I still think the league at least did right on the availability of ice for ice-time, etc., on making it two Canadian cities.
- Texas State Fair has been cancelled.
- So has the New York State Fair.
- One member of the Orlando Magic has tested positive for the coronavirus, and has not entered the NBA "bubble" as of yet.
- Nor has Markelle Fultz, but that's not due to the virus, but a personal issue.
- Not a good sign on the restart for the Angels, but this one more strategic: Shihei Ohtani had his first scrimmage outing. Threw about 50 pitches. Walked EIGHT batters!
- New Botball charity: NAMI. The National Alliance for Mental Illness.
- The MLS Is Back Tournament is supposed to start today, but it's down to just one game now: Orlando vs. Miami. A second game, between Nashville and Chicago, was postponed yesterday. Five Nashville players have tested positive for the coronavirus. That's probably a SECOND team out...
- Two New Orleans Pelicans assistants are out of the NBA restart -- both due to family health concerns.
- A co-owner of the WNBA's Atlanta Dream has slammed Black Lives Matter. And probably will not be in the league much longer as a result. Some people forget that Black Lives are the only reason we have professional sports these days. Jezebel made note that the WNBA is 88% Black.
- JC Tretter, NFLPA President, shooting truth: You want football? Wear a mask!
- Jimmie Johnson, with a negative test, will be allowed to get back in the #48.
- In the largest real impact of coronavirus on college sports, Stanford University is terminating ELEVEN sports after next school year, if it takes place: Both genders of fencing, two types of rowing, field hockey, co-ed and women's sailing, squash, synchronized swimming, wrestling, and men's volleyball.
- The big announcement from the Ivy League: All sports cancelled for the Fall term.
The truth is not what actually happened. It's what you can ENFORCE happened. It's ALL enforcement.
