- Ohio State has pulled the plug on voluntary workouts in seven sports after positive tests.
- The number of Nashville FC positive tests among the players has now reached nine. The decision to remove Nashville FC from the MLS Is Back tournament is supposed to be made this morning.
- An anonymous Power 5 athletic director basically said college athletics is absolutely "fucked" if the 2020 football season cannot happen. Get ready...
- And, as such, the ACC has postponed the start of all Fall contests until at least September 1.
- The Patriot League, to at least September 4.
- And Nashville FC, as of about 11 AM Pacific, is out of the MLS Is Back Tournament. That's two. How many more??
- As of the first of July, the World Series of Poker is taking place at the WSOP's website. (They would like to TRY for a $10,000 live main event later in the year -- their "main event" of this is a $1,000 championship tournament.) Jeff Platt is doing commentary of the last few tables before the final table goes to official WSOP coverage on their Twitch channel. Platt actually finished 7th a couple nights ago, to the thrill of a growing fanbase of his coverage! Won about $15,000 in a deepstack (larger stack vs. the value of blinds) knockout (win a small prize for every player you directly eliminate) hold-em tournament.
- Continuing college news: As of now, all non-conference contests in all Fall sports in the Big Ten have been cancelled. The conference will be conference-only in all Fall sports.
- New Mexico has become, to my knowledge, the first state in the nation to cancel high school football for the Fall. They state they MAY try a spring season, to be determined...
The truth is not what actually happened. It's what you can ENFORCE happened. It's ALL enforcement.
