Day 118

  • FC Dallas is officially OUT of the MLS Is Back tournament.
  • Melbourne has re-entered shutdown after a surge in cases in just that part of Australia.
  • Harvard has cancelled ALL in-person instruction for the ENTIRE SCHOOL YEAR.  This is what I'm talking about when we start talking about college football, people!
  • Speaking of, the Ivy League will announce tomorrow as to their plans for the fall sports.
  • Spencer Dinwiddie is now officially out of the NBA restart.
  • So is Washington's Bradley Beal, but that's due to a shoulder injury.
  • Joe West, via his girth, was deemed high-risk by MLB, and given the option to opt out for full salary.  He will not.
  • Sources now have the Ryder Cup cancelled for this year -- trying again in 2021.
  • DeSean Jackson may be gone from the Eagles after a series of anti-Semitic posts.
  • Olbermann:

  • Biting incident on the pitch in Italy today. Lazio's Patric all but handed the Italian title to Juventus by biting an opponent and getting sent off.
  • "Golic and Wingo" didn't work out -- they're done on ESPN Radio, replaced with a Keyshawn Johnson three-man show in the morning.  Golic's former morning partner, Mike Greenberg, returns to ESPN Radio for a noon Eastern solo show.  Changes start August 17th.  ESPN has already announced Golic is still under contract and will still work in the company.
