NFL Sleight of Hand #2??? New Drug Policy, At Least Two Major Suspensions Lowered Already

It almost makes you wonder if the league is part and parcel with these motherfucking abusive players.

The NFL and the NFLPA just rewrote the drug policy today, and Wes Welker can play this weekend as a result.

Josh Gordon's suspension will be reduced to somewhere around half a season.

What happened, Goodell, someone point out the 30 or so suspensions you had in the off-season and that was too many for your drug-ladened-league's ass?

Deadspin has the press release.

Included:
  • New neutral arbitrators (paid for by both league and PA) for sweeping positive tests under the rug appeals.
  • Increasing the penalizable level of marijuana, and providing additional "chances" before suspension.
  • Retroactivity for certain 2014 year offenses.
  • DUI's can now only be suspendable after adjudication -- two games.
  • Amphetamine penalties will be reduced for off-season positive tests without exemption.  In-season penalties remain the same.
  • hGH testing will begin in 2014, but the players can challenge the scientific aspect.
  • Penalties can now be given for breach of confidentiality.
