It's good to have friends who read the blog.
Some time ago, I was asked to reconsider my stand on, once Goodell actually laid the new domestic-violence policy on the table, that I wished Ray Rice's suspension be made commensurate to that -- a question of double-jeopardy.
Well, the same person (my anonymous contributor) now has a real question for Roger Goodell, now that it appears exactly this scenario has gone down, with the new TMZ video and the ban from the game he administered to Ray Rice upon that video becoming public:
"What's your game, Roger?"
The reason is simple: What has happened is EXACTLY what I asked for, except, instead of two to six, it's two to ban.
There is ZERO new impetus here. Everybody knew Ray Rice smacked his bitch up and knocked her the fuck out. The only new thing is we now get to see the punch.
So he's now been reevaluated on the SAME INCIDENT.
Here's the problem: Could Goodell actually secretly be wanting Rice to sue the league (since he's not a player, I don't think he's subject to the NFLPA's protections -- and that's issue #2: Did the cut from the Ravens come as orders from above, so he could be banned, so he could sue?) to reverse the entire new domestic violence policy, so he can not only wash his hands from all blame, but also preserve the thugging culture where the only purpose for women is to be sex objects to be beaten the Hell out of? (Not only by husbands who are players, but husbands and boyfriends who are fans as well???)
