Day Four, Part Three: CBS, James Brown, and the NFL Show Their Colors

  • CBS pulls Rihanna's song before the game, going with a new direction for their pre-game, not wanting to soil the world's beautiful minds that Chris Brown is a piece of shit...
  • Then James Brown, who, almost certainly, at minimum will be called into the office for this one...
Transcript by Matthew Henderson, through Deadspin, about the only place I can find a video which audio works on it:

  • EDIT TO ADD EARLY FRIDAY:  But leave it to Jim Nantz to angle for Brown's job and carry water for the league. According to a Deadspin commenter to the linked article:
"Unfortunately, his cohort Jim Nantz when discussing Ray Rice said due to some of his recent injuries (I.e. Last season) could have contributed to him hitting his wife - apparently Nantz thinks that due to Rice's frustrating season would be acceptable grounds for punching his wife. Nantz is clearly a moron."

  •  But all hail the Baltimore Ray Rices Ravens, 26-6 over Pittsburgh, and the refs were openly for them most of the contest, by most of the non-media reports I've had of the game.  Penalties 9-4 Pittsburgh.
