More News, and some Fine Blotter

Adrian Peterson has been deactivated for Sunday -- an effective de facto suspension for his charge of injury to a child.   (Nope.  He still gets paid.)

And now, as of 5:30 PDT Friday, a warrant has been issued for Adrian Peterson's arrest for the charge of injury to a child.

And, for more reasons that we are creating more and more players like him, the fine blotter...
  • Chicago Bears:  Chris Conte:  $22,050 for helmet to helmet.
  • Washington Redskins:  Bashaud Breeland, $16,537 for a horse-collar.
  • Pittsburgh Steelers:  Antonio Brown, $8,268 for kicking the Browns punter in the face.
  • Buffalo Bills:  Brandon Spikes, $8,268 for unnecessary roughness.
  • Baltimore Ravens:  C.J. Mosely, $8,268 for a late hit.
  • San Francisco 49ers:  Michael Crabtree, in what seems to be, IIRC, a common occurrence with him, $5,512 for a uniform violation.
All of these players get $16,537 for roughing the passer:
  • Philadelphia Eagles:  Fletcher Cox
  • New York Jets:  Calvin Pace
  • Washington Redskins:  Jarvis Jenkins
  • New England Patriots:  Chandler Jones AND Dont'a Hightower
And now we are getting word that offensive players are actually willing to (break NFL rules and) pay defensive players' fines.

Shut it down, Roger.  Shut it all down.  You've lost control.
