- At least the first nine days of running the Olympic torch through Tokyo will be closed to the public to try to stem COVID-19 fears.
- ... fears stoked from an announcement that Tokyo has had it's ninth week-to-week increase in infections in a row, now only about 3 1/2 weeks from the Opening Ceremony. It now appears a very real possibility that the Games themselves MUST either be cancelled or postponed, or they will take place under State of Emergency conditions in the host city.
And the story of Kim Gaucher isn't helping matters any. She breast-feeds her infant child, but the Canadian has to now make a choice: Find a long-term babysitter for the infant, or lose her Olympic spot on the Canadian women's basketball team, due to protocols.Reversed on Wednesday -- she (and other nursing mothers) will be allowed to bring her child to Tokyo.
The truth is not what actually happened. It's what you can ENFORCE happened. It's ALL enforcement.
