Day 447
- Some stunning, though not completely surprising, employment news in sports and sports entertainment to kick off the day.
- It sounds like the Boston Celtics have had enough of their malaise. Danny Ainge has retired/been forced out as the head of basketball operations -- former head coach Brad Stevens has been promoted to the role and they will look for a new head coach. This the day after being ousted from the playoffs 4-1 by Brooklyn.
- But another round of WWE talent cuts has come. First, it's unusual for a second round of "Black (Whatever Day It Is)" cuts to occur after a Wrestlemania. In fact, if you count NXT, this could be a THIRD round of such cuts. It is clear that a major reorganizational effort is being made in the company, but some of these names...
- Lana. Pretty much never amounted to anything other than a long pair of legs accompanying her husband FKA Rusev.
- The Riott Squad is finally no more. After having some featuring on Monday's Raw -- by Wednesday, Ruby Riott is no longer with the company.
- Buddy Murphy finally gets his release after months of little use.
- Santana Garrett never got much traction in the NXT women's division.
- But two major bombshells: The first being Aleister Black.
- But former Universal Champion Braun Strowman overshadows the lot.
- This is fueling further speculation that Vince is finally getting rid of WWE, and streamlining.
- Perhaps another idea the NCAA is on it's way out: Mike Krzyzewski of Duke is retiring after next season.
- Medina Spirit's disqualification has been confirmed by Churchill Downs, and the track has banned Bob Baffert for 2 years, meaning he's out of the 2022 and 2023 Derbies.
