Day 170

  • There are days I literally see something which falls into the category of "Why do I bother trying?"  I did, however, try to promise someone I wasn't going to fall into complete trolldom for the sake of trolldom, so I'll let it sit for a bit.
  • According to Keith Olbermann (through Mick Albicocco), he has video of Rob Manfred attempting a publicity stunt for the Mets-Marlins protest last night.  What he didn't count on was the walk-out/wildcat strike.
  • Guys, Manfred is CLEAR White-Right.  He has done more to bring The National Pastime to the KKK whims of the President than anyone since about Keenesaw Mountin Landis.
  • At least nine NFL teams in total cancelled practice yesterday.
  • The Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, has resigned, citing his health.  Note that, in Japanese culture, though, usually citing health reasons is a saving-face motif.
  • The Big Ten is now considering a Thanksgiving football start.
  • The Athletics-Astros game became the eleventh to be refused by MLB players over the current rioting.
  • In an "Only in 2020" moment...  It appears as if the season-long BotBall project may be in serious technical trouble.  The stream has been increasingly intermittent over the course of the last several weeks.  And now, there's a very real chance that, due to an increasing possibility of a lawsuit between the person who's the head of the operation and his ISP, that the ISP is no longer even fielding technical calls to fix the problems in the stream.
