Yep, skipped another one... Slow day yesterday.
- Thom Brennaman has been fired from the NFL Fox broadcasts for his homophobic remarks.
- And now you can add Mike Milbury to the mess -- misogynistic comments, and he's been forced to step away from NBC's coverage in the playoffs. No word on whether this is a permanent firing or not.
- Second round of the NHL Playoffs begins tonight.
- It's SummerSlam weekend for WWE. Patrick Clark/Velveteen Dream has returned to NXT, with quite a bit of controversy, but HHH says they couldn't find anything. Yeah, right. Of course, given Vince and how he feels about anyone other than himself, am I really surprised? That's a company-ender, though -- especially for someone like WWE, who prides themselves on relationships with corporate sponsors -- if you're wrong!
- The Washington Nationals have had to fire a male employee for throwing coffee at a woman.
- Branden Jackson of the Seahawks was knocked out with a helmet-to-helmet hit.
- According to MaxPreps, it appears 17 states will call off high-school football for the Fall to some or more extent. Seven states have already started games. Seven states have still not announced their plans for 2021.
