Two more near-sacrifices, and another update from San Antonio...

More football insanity, and we haven't even started the NFL yet!!!
  • The two thugs who downed the referee have been suspended from the team and from their school.  One report actually has reported that the second player hit the referee while he was down -- in that he speared him.
  • It looks as if there are a number of angles surrounding this incident, including one which alleges comments made on the field may have had something to do with the incident.
And two major injuries to report from the college end:
  • Georgetown linebacker Ty Williams broke five bones in his neck on an otherwise-routine passing play.  My guess?  He put his head down.  You can see the clip on Deadspin
  • Mike Williams (no relation) of Clemson -- neck injury by crashing into the goalpost.  (Deadspin)
When are we going to finally admit that football itself is the problem?

  1. I just heard about this incident in San Antonio, and I immediately thought of you, so I came here to see if you talked about it yet.

I am not surprised this happened in Texas. They are really irrational as far as football is concerned.

  2. And here's the scary part: We don't start the NFL season for another 72 hours. This is going to get real out of hand...
