Oh really... You idiots didn't think ESPN was into THAT, did you???

Several angles picked up today on a new thing ESPN is doing this year.

Awful Announcing had an article today about college football executives being "concerned" as to ESPN's increasing emphasis on the gambling angles on college football games.

You may insert your laugh track anywhere around...  here.

Someone, I do believe Deadspin but I cannot find the image again, posted something to the effect recently of  "How ESPN is going to keep you interested in a 17-point blowout" -- showing a picture of the Michigan State game (I believe it was) from the first weekend of play with Michigan State winning by 17 -- and then showing the line was Michigan State -18 1/2.

Has anyone, yet, figured out that the entire existence of sports, to a lot of people, is one form or another of gambling?  Be it fantasy, daily fantasy, the line, the total, the whatever...

It's gotten so bad, in some circles, that some match-fixers are creating sporting events out of thin air!!  Don't believe me?  Declan Hill has that story today!

But this is one of those things you can look at and say "Shock!  Que horreur!!  I never would've believed..."
