How much of this set of scandals and issues is WWE's fault by their own actions is quite debatable.
They have enough that is their fault that it has become very difficult to continue to be a fan of sports entertainment in this country with Vince McMahon running around.
That said, the last 36 hours have become an abject minefield for the WWE and various talents thereon. At least two involved fired superstars, at least three involve violence.
1) Monday morning: Hulk Hogan begins his reconciliation tour, and the less said about that, the better.
2) Monday morning, 6 AM, Florida: TNA talent "Bram" was arrested for domestic violence. Bram was recently in the process of being divorced from WWE diva "Charlotte", the daughter of Ric Flair. The woman involved in this incident appears to be Bram's current girlfriend. Charlotte is not involved.
3) Monday morning, later in the morning, WWE Performance Center, Orlando, FL: It takes a lot for me to say this this openly given my own experiences, but a certifiable nutjob was shot and nearly killed by deputies at the WWE Performance Center. This was his third run-in with police at the Performance Center, and reports seem to center on a fixation with a female wrestler -- though the latest guess indicates this was, in fact, a former diva who left the company in April!
More information coming out today indicates he may also have been stalking a former WWE diva who just completed a stint at the Performance Center as a judge on the recent WWE bomb Tough Enough. The man had several violent run-ins at WWE buildings, and is now in stable condition after surgery yesterday.
4) Monday afternoon: In a move which might have wide-ranging booking ramifications as well as possibly the imminent firing/de-pushing of the current #1 wrestler booked in the company, the WWE fired NXT performer Zahra Schreiber, who was seen posting on her social media several pro-Nazi pictures and materials which she apparently owns.
Schreiber had just begun a run with the WWE developmental brand as the sister of another NXT character when she was fired.
What makes this a potentially wide-ranging situation is that Schreiber is/was the girlfriend of (and was just photographed at the recent NXT special in Brooklyn with) WWE World Heavyweight and United States Champion Seth Rollins. Rollins had been portrayed as a scheming guy who, though he could obviously wrestle well, needed lots of help from "The Authority" (led by Stephanie McMahon and HHH) to retain his title, and lots of help from Jon Stewart to win the US title from John Cena at the recent SummerSlam.
Monday, it definitely appeared as if at least Stephanie (in storyline) was beginning to distance herself from Rollins. So you might have two title changes coming at the next pay-per-view special in September, if Rollins is not found sufficiently involved to be fired by then!
5) Tuesday: In a case spanning 32 years, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka has been charged with the 1983 death of his lover at the time, Nancy Argentino.
A grand jury has finally returned third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter charges against Snuka, where the jury believes evidence exists in which Snuka may have been involved in Nancy's death at a roadside near Allentown, PA.
Several other instances of domestic violence are also alleged in the grand jury testimony.
Snuka was the cornerman for the face team in the main event of WrestleMania (I)... 18 months after it is alleged he killed or had something to do with the death of Nancy Argentino.
Vince has got trouble. Lots of it...
