Fine and Suspension Blotter, Week 3 of the Pre-Season

First, YET ANOTHER Step 2 Drug Suspension:
  • Cincinnati Bengals:  DeQuin Evans (who was featured prominently on this year's "Hard Knocks") got knocked for 8 games for a Step 2 Drug Program violation.
Week 3 Pre-Season fines, from NFL.com:

The Detroit Lions got FIVE fines in their game with the New England Patriots.
  • Willie Young:  $7,875 for taunting.  (Tom Brady was the target.)
  • Nick Fairley:  $7,875 for a late hit.
  • C.J. Mosely:  $7,875 for a personal foul.
  • Joseph Fauria:  $7,875 for a personal foul.
  • Rocky McIntosh:  $7,875 for a personal foul.
Other week 3 fines:
  • Baltimore Ravens:  Armond Smith was tossed from the game for kicking an opponent.  He's also $15,000 lighter for it.
  • Two for the New York Jets:  Matt Simms fined $7,875 for a six-shooter (illegal) celebration.
  • and also for the Jets:  Vladimir Ducasse, $7,875 for a leg whip.
  • Jacksonville Jaguars:  Ken Parrish:  $7,875 for a personal foul face mask.  Why is this an unusual one?  Parrish was the PUNTER!
