This time, you aren't a fucking asshole, Joe West,

I cannot believe the narrative going around this morning on sports media like ESPN and Yahoo...

There is actually a decent portion of the sports media who actually believes that what went down last night in the first inning of Game 5 of the American League Championship Series was not fan interference, and probably FLAGRANT fan interference...

First inning.  Jose Altuve hits a blast to right field.  Mookie Betts is going back to attempt to make the catch in right field.

At least four fans in Houston try to reach, ostensibly for the ball.

One pulls himself back, but at least three others are clearly reaching into the field of play to try to catch the ball, and the guy in the gray shirt causes Betts' glove to close.

Joe West, in one of the few cogent moments of his career, calls the fan interference, and New York upholds the call.

And everyone is throwing a shit fit.  From ESPN (who interviewed the jokers!) to Yahoo! to Deadspin!

I've got a stupid question for people:  Are we now at the point that "Home Field Advantage" actually extends to overt acts (like some in the Arena Football League, etc.)?  I wouldn't qualify this as quite an "overt act" -- but I easily would've tossed all involved fans.

But it definitely impacted the game.  It would've been a two-run home run for Altuve, and Houston lost 8-6.  Boston leads the series 3-1, and can go to the World Series in Game 5 tonight.
