In the spirit of Pat Forde's comment yesterday, you may wish to read this before filling out your brackets...

  • Dennis Smith, North Carolina State, last season
  • Isaiah Whitehead, Seton Hall, 2014-2016
(Ironically, these two teams play each other in an 8-9 game in this tournament)
  • Edrice Adebayo, Kentucky, last season
That's three of the biggest names on that report from about three weeks ago when Yahoo! released documents regarding the FBI's investigation into the reality of college basketball and it's relationship with the machine that is the NBA and surrounding interests.

All three of those teams play in this tournament.

Here's some current big names:
  • Wendell Carter, Duke
  • Miles Bridges, Michigan State
  • Collin Sexton, Alabama
That's three major players in THIS YEAR'S TOURNAMENT that Yahoo! uncovered.

And that doesn't even get into the situation at Arizona.

But what really drew me to make this post about this tournament was Pat Forde's comment about USC, Louisville, and Oklahoma all being out and being part of the FBI investigation was a list of at least 30 players in a balance sheet pictured on the Yahoo! article.

The probability that Arizona, Kentucky, Duke, Michigan State, Alabama, Seton Hall, or NC State can win this tournament and keep this championship is ZERO.  Period.

And I do believe this will have an impact on the officiating.
