Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Second American Civil War.
Choose your side, and do it carefully.
I had a very scary night Monday night. We actually had one protester set off fireworks at our corner of our apartment complex, among other things.
But let me back up, because something needs to be said.
I will never, in anything I say here, state that the righteous anger and the NONVIOLENT arms of these protests are not valid, correct, and should be defended.
We had a protest in my home city about 4 PM Monday. And we kept an eye on things like a hawk -- I don't think I need to explain why.
And the two hours of the protest itself, plus about another hour after a 6 PM curfew had been set by the jurisdiction, were completely non-violent with maybe one or two outliers.
Then the fucking agitprops showed up. And the downtown of my city was ripped fairly severely. So badly, in fact, many of the stores I frequent never opened today and are now basically under "Until Further Notice".
Like those who had free reign over 5th Avenue New York City that same night (so bad, it caused the mayor to ban all automobile traffic, effectively, in Manhattan for Tuesday's protests...), like many of all races (including Black) who had indiscriminate take of pretty much what they wanted and where...
You've been co-opted, you've been played, and now the country has materially lost order.
Why?
First, the "Zombie Apocalypse" types. No jobs, no hope, no future, no chance -- much of it by choice. The type who would be asked why they looted and tell them to their face (as one did in NYC Monday night) "Why not?"
Second, the violent protesters -- and, by this, I mean those who might be that angry, but have chosen to fully "Stick It To The Man". And there are those out there.
Thirdly, as UrinatingTree noted in his video, there are open opportunists. People who have begged for the loss of law and order so that they can get what they've always believed "theirs", and that they would never get otherwise, by any earning of money or any other manner of their keep.
But then there are two other parties who are stoking the fires even worse than the first three...
The first is law enforcement themselves. Several responses to cops being shot at and run over and the like are being reported, and they are as egregious, if not worse, than the Floyd murder. Tonight' social media is erupting about a 13 year-old kid in Brooklyn shot 19 times by 10 officers because he had a gun.
The second is the Piece of the Ultimate Shit himself -- Donald Trump. Trump has done more, in about six days, to stoke the fires of a Civil War which would end any prospect of a safe election in 2020. He talks "LAW AND ORDER!" "Send in the dogs!" "Weak governors!" and the like.
Here's a piece of info, bitch: The National Guard, which is the last resort the governors really had, has done basically effective ZERO to end these protests and stop the agitprops from violence and looting. (And at least two in the Minnesota Guard may have stoked things further with their own racist bullshittery.)
He has even proposed sending in the military. And the saddest part of it is that he probably has no real choice to regain order before enough people get brave enough/have nothing left to lose by dying enough There are those who believe this is his want. We'll see.
I have a lot more on this, and will probably post more later. But this week has been scary and tiring. Off to bed, this early for the first time at least in this week.
