AFC
- New England
- Baltimore
From there, who cares?
Especially given a BLATANT PI no-call that actually survived the review process even though the Houston receiver was GODDAMN MUGGED, I think it's pretty clear at this point that it's New England or Baltimore in the AFC, and it really doesn't otherwise matter.
The Chiefs are 7-4 into their bye week, but have the Patriots two weeks after that. Would not be 100% surprised to see the Raiders actually win the division on the way out just to fuck with everybody!
As for the AFC South, double who fucking cares??
NFC
As someone said yesterday to me in the comments section of this blog, I think we pretty much have five of the six teams who will represent the NFC. The question is, who's the sixth and in what order will the other five go?
- Seattle
- Green Bay
- San Francisco
- Minnesota
- New Orleans
- Dallas
One thing is not to be put in the NFL doghouse as the Cleveland Browns have found out getting their rematch against Pittsburgh moved from 4:25 back to 1:05 pm. Speaking of favors the NFL owes the Saints big time after the last 2 rig jobs in the playoffs. And maybe the Raiders will get one more chance against the Patriots in the playoffs. Don't even think NBC is looking to flex any games till the last week. That should tell you something.
ReplyDeleteI think the NFL is going to DEFINITELY try to bury that rematch on December 1. I said it almost a week ago, and I stand behind it now: That game should not take place in any respect.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the Saints go: You are not the only person who has made a major discussion that the league will, Super Bowl XXXVII style, pay back the Saints by giving them at least a berth, if not a title.
I disagree for one reason: For as much as Gruden and the Raiders got fucked, they didn't sue for it. At least two lawsuits were filed against the NFL regarding the result of that match. I don't think the NFL actually appreciates that kind of action against them.
