The last six Super Bowls:
42: Giants 17 - Patriots 14 -- touchdown with :35 left wins it after incredible Tyree catch.
43: Steelers 27 - Cardinals 23 -- touchdown with :35 wins it. Controversial Warner "fumble" negates Hail Mary chance with :15 left.
44: Saints 31 - Colts 17 -- largely believed to be known-rigged and Peyton Manning was notified of the dive.
45: Packers 31 - Steelers 25 -- Steelers fail on downs less than a minute to go.
46: Giants 21 - Patriots 17 -- Winning touchdown at :57 to play. Brady Hail Mary ball in the air at the gun.
47: Ravens 34 - 49ers 31 -- Stanford-Cal possibility at the gun, scripted from Ravens up 28-6 to ensure the game is in doubt to the last play.
So the only question now is about the power outage: Was that when the NFL reinforced the storyline, or stepped in to create a new one to get people to keep watching what was turning into the biggest blowout in years???
5 of the last 6 Super Bowls -- and, going back, 9 of the last 14 -- basically decided on the last play or the last relevant play within the final minute.
When are you people going to learn that you are being played like fiddles????
You know if you go back to the Tyree catch, I think there was a face mask on a Patriot defensive linemen on that play. I could be wrong, but it went un-called. Not a shock though. It took some miracle play like that to win it for them.
ReplyDeleteThe Cardinals got screwed big time against the Steelers. Warner played lights out in that game, oh yeah the 100 yard INT return, something was up with that too. As usual with the Steelers, they can get away with anything in the Super Bowl, and they did. They had like 90-100 yards given to them by bad calls in that game. It's pretty sad that both their Super Bowls, they needed all the help they got to win them. Warner was shredding their super awesome defense to pieces.
I don't believe the Saints/Colts one was rigged. Manning is known to blow it in the playoffs. He has one of the worst records as a QB in the post season, and that throw he made is something he's known to do, but you can't say the Saints didn't get any help in the game before, and the NFL totally milked the Katrina story for them.
Minnesota flat out DOMINATED them on the stat sheet in that NFC Championship, and I'm not going to get into the bounty stuff, but I strongly believe the pass interference call in OT helped the Saints big time, and one of Brees passed looked like it hit the ground on that OT drive. Something was not right at all about that NFCCG. Look at the stats, Minnesota flat out dominated them, to the point New Orleans needed every single turnover to win it. To be honest with you, the Saints should not have even been in that game. They got calls that helped them on their scoring drive, just pull up the stat sheet, and you'll see what I am talking about. Minnesota dominated them, they should have won, and by at least 10 points seeing how much they held the Saints offense in that game to barely anything compared to what their own offense was putting up.
This Super Bowl was rigged though, no other way around it. 4th and goal for the Niners and they don't call pass interference, don't call holding, and no off sides? Not to mention how does Baltimore's defense just lay down like that for the rest of the game? I think the Niners got screwed though. All game long they were playing against the refs, since Baltimore got every call and no calls on the Baltimore offensive line for Holding as they did all game, no calls for the face masks either, which they got away with all night.
Just how the Packers got to that Super Bowl always baffled me. It's like the Bears just gave up, well Jay Cutler gave up against them I thought. I don't believe he was injured, and everyone knew the Pack was going to win even though Pittsburgh was better on paper. There is no way they were going to let Big Ben win that Super Bowl after all the controversy surrounding him that season.
Also the Steelers and Seahags Super Bowl from 2005, you can add that one to the list. They sent Bettis out with a ring in one of the most rigged Super Bowls ever, if not THE most rigged one ever. And tonight, they sent murderer Ray Lewis out a champion as the refs let them get away with everything in that game.
