- One good window on Sunday: The CBS National window, which led with Eagles-Patriots (the Eagles and the Tom Brady number-retirement ceremony). 10.1 rating, 21.35 million viewers, up 21% rating, 28% viewer for the best CBS Week 1 national window in eight years.
- Everything else sank: The FOX National window, largely Packers-Bears, 8.0 rating, 16 and a quarter million viewers, down 13% rating, 12% viewers.
- 40-0 hurts: Sunday Night lost 15% ratings, 13% viewers on NBC. 10.4, 21.8 million.
- The source material for this post, Sports Media Watch, notes it was the most lopsided shutout in SNF history.
- CBS Regional: (Cincinnati-Cleveland in half the markets) 6.5, 12.8 million, about a quarter down from last year.
- FOX Regional: (49ers-Steelers in 3/4 of the markets) 5.3, 10.2 million, with that being about a sixth down from last year.
- EDIT TO ADD 8 PM PDT 9/13/23: Monday Night: Best Monday Night Football game -- ANY MNF game since at least 2000. 22.64 million, barely ekeing out a 2005 Steelers/Colts tilt. 12.5 rating.
- So the MNF game was the most-watched of the week this week.
The truth is not what actually happened. It's what you can ENFORCE happened. It's ALL enforcement.
