• There goes Cincinnati.  Lost to Arkansas in their opener.
• There goes the entire post-USC/UCLA Pac-12.  Oregon got spanked so hard by Georgia, the only thing they really could say after the game is "We have better players."  And Oregon was a top-12 team.  Gee, you really want this 12-team CFP?    
• And Utah, ranked seventh, fell in it's non-conference opener to Florida.
• Robbery at the Virginia Tech-Old Dominion game -- another upset win for Old Dominion.  And items were taken from the Va Tech lockers.during the game.
• The end of NXT UK was a meek affair for the Britons, as all of the American NXT champions won the unification matches at NXT Worlds Collide.
• Two second-period goals gave Canada the women's world ice hockey championship today over the United States.
• The United States was embarrassed by Mexico in the AmeriCup men's basketball tournament over the weekend -- then embarrassed again by Brazil's rainstorms.  Up huge over Venezuela, the game was stopped at halftime due to rain leaking onto the court.
• Last day of the MLB season is a month from tomorrow -- Albert Pujols now at 695 home runs, one short of A-Fraud-Roid on the list and 5 short of 700.  St. Louis won with it -- 2-0 over the Cubs.
